The Daily Tip Jar

It’s always fun to take a vacation, especially with people who you love and are your friends. Sometimes, traveling with your besties can lead to unnecessary stress or complications. If you are planning a trip with close friends, here are a few great tips to keep in mind so that you can keep the fun in your trip and still I’ll be friends when you return home.

Getting on the Same Page

The first thing you should do when traveling with friends is have a meeting to get everyone on the same page. This can be where you share your ideas of what you’d like to do and accomplish on your trip. This will also be a great time for everyone to agree on activities and places of interest that are must sees. It’s better to establish these wants and needs before getting on the road so everyone has a clear expectation.

Splitting Costs

Things can get sticky with friends when it comes to splitting bills and the costs that are associated with the vacation. Make sure before you leave everyone has a clear idea of who is responsible for what while on the trip. Decide however you want to split up the fees, but make sure you have a good plan that everyone is comfortable with. This will help avoid any unnecessary drama or blaming when you should be having fun.

Sharing Spaces

It’s most likely that you will be sharing hotel rooms or space with all your close friends. Be sure to respect everyone’s space by keeping a clean area. This includes any dirty dishes or exploding suitcases. Your friends will appreciate you more if you take the care to respect everyone’s space.  If you are someone that does not share well with others, maybe a good option is to spring for a solo room. It might cost a little more, but it will save your sanity in the long run.

Individual Activities

Sometimes a little space away from the group will do everyone good. Plan on participating in some solo activity or activities during your trip. It will give you some quiet time to recharge, which will help the group dynamic in setting thrive even more.  Also don’t be afraid to go off on your own if there is something you want to do, don’t forget that it is your vacation first and foremost, having friends along is just an added benefit.

Remember to Have Fun

It should be really easy to have fun with your group of friends. Remember that that is what is important on your vacation and try not to sweat the small stuff that comes up. Disagreements over where to eat or what time to leave for a hike are small things compared to making memories and having a good time.

Traveling with friends can be very fulfilling and a great time for everyone. By utilizing some of these tips, it will hopefully make your group trip go smoother than ever.  You’ll be ready to pack up and travel with your friends for many years to come.
