The Daily Tip Jar

Everyone loves getting a great deal, but sometimes those come after extensive searching and painstaking efforts.  Especially when bargain hunting for clothes in stores, the jungle is even more vast and the chance of bringing home a prized treasure dwindles.  Put some fun back into hunting and enjoy the thrill of the chase with these tips and tricks.

Commit to the process

Ever find anything in a hurry?  Usually never.  This is true when it comes to hunting for clothes and shopping in stores.  Be in the right mindset and have time to spare – you don’t know where your shopping excursion will take you and you want to be open to any possibilities that come your way.  If this means shopping alone and not having distractions from others, leave everyone at home and shop solo.

Choose your uniform wisely

Wearing the right safari attire is essential.  You want to wear your clothing that is easy to take on and off in the dressing rooms.  If you have something intricate on, the likelihood of you wanting to take it off in order to try something new on is slim.  We’ve all been there and then you could be potentially missing out on great opportunities or finds.  The same goes for shoes, wear something that is easy to slide in and out of leaving your feet ready for anything.

Size quest

This one takes a little more patience and endurance.  Did you know you can shop the entire store and all it’s sizes?  In bargain stores, consistency and reliability aren’t necessarily the cornerstones – it’s more of a free for all, good luck, you’re on your own mindset.  This is true of clothes finding their ways back to the proper size rails and areas.  Sometimes you need to dig deep and look outside your normal size area to find something extraordinary.  Would an adorable size 8 dress be snatched up by someone purposefully shopping in the size 0 section?  Probably not.  Think outside of the box and find those little nuggets of gold.

The not so “good deal”

Just as in a treasure expedition, there are boobytraps and false turns everywhere you look.  Don’t be swayed by a “good deal” simply because it’s a deal.  Sometimes people get blinders on when seeing high-end designers and labels and pretty soon they are purchasing the designers’ ugliest work to date just because it was made by so and so.  No one walks around with the labels showing and their clothes inside out – at least we hope not – so wear your truth goggles and make sure you are selecting things that are in your style, practical or fun.

It’s a jungle out there in the land of bad fabrics and horrid patterns.  Hopefully these tips can be a survival guide the next time you venture out.  You can really find some awesome deals if you have the right mindset, some extra time, and the pursuit of glory.
